Ebay weirdness

After asking permission I have included our emails...

Dear name not disclosed

Hi I received the skull, thanks alot. I notice you had 2 others. I was wondering if you make them yourself? And if so how you do it? And why you painted it Sydney Swans? Also why the Ned Kelly one? Are you an artist? Can you please tell me your inspiration? I am very curious.
Thanks
Kirsten

Dear
fridgegirl,

Yes I do make them myself,Sydney Swan one was made because the kids suggested it,Ned, flame and others are made by taking celtic design of and then I engrave them with my design. Ned was made because my old man likes ned the other ones I do are what I feel at the time. The new one is a tattooed rose design which should be finished in about a week. I am not an artist just enjoy making nice things for others to enjoy. Thank you for the questions , hope you enjoy your skull for many years

Seagulls

Hmmm, I think hot chips, one leg stands, squawks, beaches and Richard Bach. Have you read it? Jonathan Livingston Seagull? My old friend Matthew gave me a copy ages ago. Another friend gave it to him. It was small enough to start him reading books. Here's a quote...
'Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding.'
And why not, here's another...
'Jonathan Seagull discovered that boredom and fear and anger are the reasons that a gull’s life is so short, and with these gone from his thoughts, he lived a long fine life indeed.'
Seagulls make me smile at the moment.
I wanna make smoking ones. That just stand around. On one leg. And bitch about Jonathan Livingston Seagull all day long. Really they're jealous.

Gertrude Street on a Thursday evening....

I wandered down to the Gertrude Street Projection Festival and was charmed by the window display at Rose Chongs... Knitted out weirdness. Also pretty projections on buildings.

House Sitting 5 mins down the road...

Olivia has gone on a lovely escape from Melbourne winter holiday. So I am looking after Florence and having walks around the part of West Brunswick I don't usual venture to.... I remade a broken handle for Olivia's sideboard. It's pink and not attached, so I'll see if she notices. Brunswick is a mix of vege gardens in the front yards, mattresses dumped out the front of flats, houses named 'Gladsville' , new buildings and pretty scalloped details.

Holidays...time for some new ideas.

Last semester I took on a little too much teaching and am now enjoying time to get into my small studio and play around with a few ideas. I have always enjoyed hearts and wanted to reinvent a heart ring without too much of the cornyness. For me a heart represents love. A reminder to include more of it in daily life.
