Try again...

Cups do explode when you don't get the airbubbles out and too much paper in paper clay makes it shrink too much. Oh well, try again.

The Young Prince

Wow...

Design Made Trade

It was super lovely sharing a temporary studio space as part of the Design Festival, Design Made Trade, Craft Victoria Open Studios with specifically the lovely and talented Milly Flemming, Elizabeth Yong and Nicholas Jones. Thanks to all the people who chatted and said hi. It was amazing to have the Royal Exhibition Building as a makeshift studio for those four days. I especially enjoyed meeting all the other craft practitioners and making some new friends.

Terrazzo

I am housesitting a lovely house at the moment with an awesome cat called Pablo. I think he likes the terrazzo floor as much as I do. Both Pablo's triangle marked nose area and the floor are inspiring new pieces for me. I am going to mix the pebble mix crystals with some of my paper clay...

Paper clay

I have been playing around with something called paper clay. You make paper pulp and mix it into your clay and it is meant to make it stronger, lighter and easier to work with. Messy process to match my messy workspace!

I was too impatient with my Pyramid though. His mouth led to his downfall and he is now a sloppy ball again ready to be re made. I thought I'd like to capture his brief existence.

Window

Some of my plants and objects now have some window time in the Craft Vic window. Thanks Amber for the pic!

Tribute

This is my tribute to the lovely council worker with the lady hair who saw me struggling at the side of a busy road in Ardeer. My stuff was about to fall off my trailer due to my poor knotting skills even though I was once a girl guide. Not only did he retie it all safely, he took the time to show me how to do all those special knots, that I swiftly forgot as I was mesmerized by his lovely locks.... His friend supervised all proceedings from his truck. Thank goodness for kind people.

Nice week

Craft Victoria asked me all these questions and now I'm on their blog.
Last week I won a trip to Fuji Rock Festival.
I found out I got accepted for an exhibition at Craft Vic early next year.
My stuff is in the window of Craft Vic.
All very exciting and flattering.

I like him. Heartbreaker? I wonder.
